Spent the Day Exploring Ballard with Andrew

Started out with a hearty breakfast at the Portage Bay Cafe

Followed by some time exploring The Ballard locks that provide boat access from Puget Sound into Lake Washington.  The locks are even used by kayakers, as you can see.

The fish ladder was right next to the locks, so we watched the Coho Salmon swim by for awhile.

The Nordic museum was right next door.

It was already lunch, and we were joined by Andrew's friends, Tito and Maria

We expect that we will need bikes during our stay in the northwest, so tried some out to rent for the duration.

How could we resist a visit to the locally famous 'Fremont Troll' while in the neighborhood.

Ended the day with a nice meal and great company with the addition of Mackenzie                                 Miller at Ristorante Picolinos.
